Wojewódzka Biblioteka Publiczna w Krakowie zaprasza na cykl spotkań otwartych w ramach projektu „Architektura miast. Krakowska perspektywa” [ENG]

Zaproszeni goście, jako specjaliści w dziedzinie zwrócą uwagę na różne aspekty miejskiej architektury Krakowa. Spotkania mają na celu pokazanie jak niezwykłym fenomenem jest pojmowanie przestrzeni architektonicznej i zwrócenie uwagi na niezwykłość takiego wymiaru jakim jest przestrzeń miasta.

Wśród zaproszonych gości są: Beata Chomątowska, Dorota Leśniak-Rychlak, Artur Wabik, Filip Springer,Teresa Latuszewska-Syrda, Agnieszka Labus, dr hab. Monika Bogdanowska,
Paweł Jaworski.

Spotkania odbędą się w Artetece Wojewódzkiej Biblioteki Publicznej w Krakowie o godzinie 17.00.

Regional Public Library in Krakow would like to invite you to participate in „City Architecture project. Krakow's perspective” project.

The project consists of workshops and open meetings devoted to contemporary architecture of cities. Events will take place from May to September 2019 at the Regional Public Library in Krakow and in the Arteteka of Regional Public Library in Krakow.

We invite you to: A series of open meetings devoted to contemporary architecture.

Invited guests, as specialists in the field of architecture, spatial planning and civic activities, will draw attention to various aspects of Krakow's urban architecture. Meetings aim to showcase the unusual phenomenon of understanding architectural space and draw attention to the uniqueness of the dimension of city space:

On the 11th of May, with Beata Chomątowska we will discuss why are we still covering reality in concrete and living in concrete houses.

On May 29th, we will meet with Dorota Leśniak-Rychlak, representative of the quarterly "Autoportret. Pismo o dobrej przestrzeni". Together we will consider whether own means better, leading to discussion on social responsibility for urban spaces in Krakow.

On the 15th of June, we will talk with Artur Wabik about streetart activities: whether the solution for Krakow’s tenement houses are murals and graffiti.

On June 29th, we will meet with Filip Springer to reflect on modern architecture in the city with history and monuments.

On the 7th of September, together with Teresa Latuszewska-Rychlak (part of Initiative of Lechstarter) and Agnieszka Labus (from the Foundation Laboratory of Architecture 60 +) we will talk about the power of civil society and the activity of an "activist-architect"

On September 18th, we will meet with dr hab. Monika Bogdanowska, the Małopolska Voivodship Heritage Conservator, to find out what are the architectural possibilities for active citizens in the city with historical monuments and history

On September 28th, we will talk to urbanist Paweł Jaworski about managing urban space.

Meetings will be held at the Arteteka of the Regional Public Library in Krakow at 17.00 (5.00 PM).

Design workshop "Green Reading Room" during which together with the participants we will work out tips for the design of the area behind the library, between Karmelicka Street and Dolnych Młynów Street, which will serve as the Green Reading Room.
Workshops will be lead by architects Barbara Nawrocka and Domika Wilczyńska.
Meeting dates are: 6.05, 13.05, 20.05, 27.05, 03.06, 17.06, 24.06, 01.07, start time: 16.00 (4.00 PM)

A series of workshops “Pradnik Aktywnego Obywatela” (A guide of an Active Citizen).
During which we will reach for examples of successful and unsuccessful projects in Krakow and other cities. Next we will discuss steps that led to good changes. We will also get acquainted with legal acts regulating a given area and jointly design an online Guide of an Active Citizen.
