What matters will we deal with at the Voivodeship Office?

At the Department of Nationals' and Foreigners' Affairs (6 Przy Rondzie, Krakow), all matters related to the legalisation of the stay of foreigners in the Republic of Poland, matters of the residence of EU citizens and their family members, the registration of invitations and granting permits for foreigners to perform work can be arranged.

Work of the department is supported by the information and helpline info.opt – a service dedicated to the affairs of third countries nationals. Additionally, Malopolska Provincial Office runs a project ‘Malopolska Friendly to Foreigners’, that aims to actively support the integration of foreigners in our region.

Department’s tasks:Małopolski Urząd Wojewódzki

  • conducting affairs related to legalisation of residence of  foreigners in Poland and particularly granting a permit for temporary and permanent residence, issuing invitations;
  • conducting proceedings for work permits for foreigners willing to work in Poland;
  • conducting affairs related to legalisation of residence of the citizens of the European Union states, the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation as well as of members of their families in Poland;
  • conducting proceedings to verify the fact of having Polish citizenship;
  • conducting proceedings to obtain Polish citizenship;
  • conducting proceedings concerning repatriation.

Info.optInfo.opt – information and helpline on legalisation of stay and work in Poland dedicated to third countries nationals

The main task of the info.opt team is to offer help and informative support to third countries nationals and Polish nationals – spouses, partners, employers and legal representatives in various aspects concerning legalisation of stay and work in Poland.

Offered services:

  • comprehensive information on ongoing cases of stay permits;
  • information and consultation on legalisation of stay for third countries nationals;
  • information on regulations regarding work of third countries nationals;
  • advisory service in individual cases regarding legalisation of stay and work in Poland.

Info.opt service is run within project no 17/7-2017/OG-FAMI co-funded by EU in framework of The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund. Project title: „Retrofitting with IT equipment and implementation of modern electronic and media solutions supporting tasks of  Małopolska Voivode regarding third countries nationals and development and maintenance of helpline dedicated to the matters mentioned above” and project 15/10-2019/OG-FAMI “Infrastructure, Innovation, Information” co-funded by EU in framework of The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.

Project Malopolska friendly to foreigners - support in integration and adaptation of third-country citizens

The main goal of the project is to expand the scope of integration services for third-country citizens in the province of Malopolska. The project is addressed to third-countries nationals staying in Poland legally, staff of public institutions serving foreigners, school teachers and pedagogues and citizens of the host country. The main tasks realised within the project are Information and Advisory Points for third-country citizens in Kraków and Nowy Sącz.

1. Information and advisory point for third-country citizens in Kraków in Polish, Ukrainian, Russian and English. Task range:

comprehensive assistance, information and legal advice for third-country nationals in matters related to: social care, national health system, business activity in Poland, labour market, access to schools, universities, legalisation of stay and work and more.

Małopolska Przyjazna CudzoziemcomAdditional initiatives realised within the project:

Training and meetings for employees of public institutions and education employees, for example:

  • training for employees of public institutions (objective: preparation of personnel of public institutions serving third-country citizens for quicker identification and solving of integration problems),
  • training for education employees (objective: improving the competence of employees in the field of working with a foreign child and parents)
  • meetings of employees of public institutions (objective: exchange of experience and good practice in working with third-country citizens)

Cooperation platform meetings - regular discussion panels

  • team: representatives of the voivode, communities of third-country citizens, non-governmental organizations acting for foreigners, public administration bodies, academic communities, employers employing third-country citizens
  • goal: to focus the integration process and develop a concept that would enable the creation of an integration strategy for the Province of Malopolska, exchange of experiences between entities and institutions supporting foreigners about barriers and needs in the field of integration and adaptation of third-country citizens
  • subject: current situation of foreigners living in Malopolska, including in the field of education, access to health care, labour market, integration, counteracting trafficking and other matters important from the point of view of third-country citizens.
