Animal Crossing porusza temat wielokulturowości charakterystyczny dla Timiszoary, jednocześnie podejmuje aktualne w kontekście europejskim zagadnienie migracji i przymusowego przesiedlenia.

W spektaklu śledzimy historię dwóch pracowników Straży Granicznej, Rumuna i Węgra, którzy pracują w mieszanym zespole nadzoru granicznego i mierzą się z historią migrantki z Bliskiego Wschodu.

Co nas czeka? Szansa na zrozumienie, że mamy wspólną przyszłość, jeśli będziemy otwarci na poznanie siebie nawzajem, na nawiązanie kontaktu z rzeczywistością ludzi obok nas i przestaniemy traktować się jak przedmioty.

Animal Crossing był wystawiany na festiwalach w Rumunii, a jako spektakl czytany był prezentowany w Theatre de l'Opprime w Paryżu i Theatre X w Berlinie.

Romanian theatrical performance Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing touches on the theme of multiculturalism characteristic of Timișoara, at the same time addressing the issue of migration and forced displacement, which is topical in the European context.

In the play, we follow the story of two Border Guard employees, a Romanian and a Hungarian, who work in a mixed border surveillance team and face the story of a migrant woman from the Middle East.

What's in store for us? A chance to understand that we have a common future if we are open to getting to know each other, to get in touch with the reality of the people next to us and stop treating each other like objects.

Animal Crossing has been staged at festivals in Romania, and as a reading performance has been presented at the Theatre de l'Opprime in Paris and Theatre X in Berlin.
